What Are the Dimensions to Hang a Dartboard
Dartboards have variable levels of thickness as such measuring from the wall could obscure measurements. An important distinction while taking the measurements is that the distance is always measured from the front of the dartboard. Keep them fixed and move only your arm. Your shoulder and body movement: When making a throw, you should not move your shoulder and body. Only raise your elbow a little when the dart accelerates, keep it fixed on returning your hand. You can choose between sisal fiber dartboards (the most common and 'official' choice), wooden dartboards, cork dartboards, paper dartboards, and even electronic dartboards made of plastic. You will want to keep this in mind when choosing a dartboard, and which material you desire. Different dartboard materials will often require different types of darts. Plastic electronic boards, of course, cannot use steel-tipped darts. Darts is played with a variety of different rules and game types with the most popular games being cricket and ‘01’ games. Cricket games are race-style games where players must hit the numbers 15-20 and the bullseye three times each. All dart games are played by taking turns throwing all three of your darts at the board from behind the oche line. ‘01’ style games (301, 501, 701 etc) are fixed score games where players take turns adding their scores attempting to reach the specified 01 number exactly. However, if you are looking to set up a standard World Darts Federation-approved game in your kitchen or living room (although maybe look to cover the walls first) then you’ll want to have 5ft 8inches between the floor and your bullseye and 7ft 9.25inches between you and the front of the board. Follow through with your throw after releasing the dart with your fingers pointing towards the target. To throw darts, comfortably hold the dart with at least three fingers with the end of the dart aligned to your target on the dart board. Throw the dart using your hand, wrist, and elbow. Only your arm should move when you throw the dart.
